Wildlife doesn’t only thrive in the Welsh countryside, but in its cities and urban areas too.

Photographer Gildas Griffiths from Barry has captured wildlife around Cardiff and the Vale during Spring 2026.

Gildas said: “By connecting my interest in photography with local wildlife, I have had the opportunity to understand animal behavior and consider our responsibility to ensure they are not disturbed.

“I believe my images capture the beauty and the challenges they face, while raising awareness of what lives around us, which often goes unnoticed.

“It takes time, patience, and effort to capture these images, considering this is a fragile and challenging period for them. I never reveal the locations of these animals.'”

Nid dim ond yng nghefn gwlad Cymru mae bywyd gwyllt yn ffynnu, ond yn ei dinasoedd a’i hardaloedd trefol hefyd.

Y ffotograffydd Gildas Griffiths o’r Barri sydd wedi dal bywyd gwyllt o gwmpas Caerdydd a’r Fro yn ystod tymor y gwanwyn 2026.

Meddai Gildas: “Drwy gysylltu fy niddordeb mewn ffotograffiaeth gyda bywyd gwyllt lleol, rwyf wedi cael y cyfle i ddeall ymddygiad anifeiliaid ac ystyried ein cyfrifoldeb i sicrhau nad ydynt yn cael eu tarfu arnynt.

“Rwy’n credu bod fy nelweddau yn dal prydferthwch, yr heriau maent yn wynebu gan godi ymwybyddiaeth o’r hyn sydd yn byw o’n cwmpas, sydd yn aml yn mynd yn ddisylw.

“Mae’n cymryd amser, amynedd ac ymdrech i ddal y delweddau yma, gan ystyried cyfnod bregus ac heriol iddynt. Dydw i byth yn datgelu lleoliadau’r anifeiliaid yma.”
