Imagine leaving home for just 20 days… only to return and discover that the world had changed forever.
In 2001, fifty-five volunteers took part in a BBC historical sailing experiment aboard an eighteenth-century ship in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. With no phones, no internet, no television, and no news, they became completely isolated from civilization.
While they peacefully sailed across the ocean, one of the most significant events in modern history unfolded back home. They had no idea.
This incredible true story reminds us how quickly history can change—and how information connects us all.
