Wales’ try-scoring hero Rhys Carre credits head coach Steve Tandy for bringing him back into the international fold and “letting him do what he does best”.
The Saracens prop had been overlooked by Warren Gatland and Wayne Pivac who publicly said he missed individual performance targets.
But Carre says Tandy convinced him to come back in the autumn and has restored his belief.
Carre has scored three tries in this year’s Six Nations, including a sensational 30m solo effort against Ireland.
In doing so, he became only the sixth starting prop in history to score in three successive Test matches. He is also Wales’ current top points scorer in the championship.
