Oxford United have signed midfielder Kai Andrews on loan from Coventry City until January.
The 20-year-old made nine appearances in all competitions for the Sky Blues last season before spending the second half of the campaign on loan at Scottish Premiership side Hibernian, for whom he scored one goal in 11 games.
Andrews has not played for Coventry this season since their promotion to the Premier League.
He is a Wales international and will work under head coach Aaron Ramsey – a former Wales midfielder himself – at Oxford.
Oxford are currently operating under a transfer embargo. They will not pay a loan fee or anything towards Andrews’ wages, and said they have received special dispensation from the English Football League to register the deal.
The U’s visit Huddersfield Town for their next game in League One on Tuesday.
