A number of homes have been evacuated in Craigavon, County Armagh, due to a security alert.
Police are currently at the scene of the alert in the Meadowbrook area.
The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) is advising members of the public to avoid the area.
Upper Bann MP, the DUP’s Carla Lockhart, described the alert as an “outrageous situation” and that “no one wants it”.
“I have been liaising with the PSNI today and to think that in 2025 we have those who are engaging in this type of activity is just beyond comprehension,” she said.
The MP also urged anyone with information to report it to the police.
Sinn Féin councillor for Craigavon, Jude Mallon, said he understood police were attending following the discovery of a “suspect device”.
“This is completely unacceptable and serves only to cause disruption to our community, who are now being evacuated from their homes,” he told BBC News NI.
“Our community wants to live in peace and move forward.
“This has achieved nothing, only to cause harm and fear.”
