Four people have been charged with conspiracy to pervert the course of justice following a crash that killed two teenagers.
Jaydon Jack Eric Bowyer, 19, and Ta-Shay Carlton Canoville, 16, both from Newport, died from “blunt trauma” after a motorbike crash involving a vehicle which then “made off from the scene” on Aberthaw Road on 7 May.
On Tuesday, Yonis Zaid, 18, Ella Persse, 21, Montaser Yafai, 23, and a 16-year-old boy who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared before Newport Magistrates’ Court.
Zaid, Persse and Yafai were remanded in custody, while the 16-year-old was granted conditional bail.
