Scrum-half Caolan Englefield has signed a new deal with Gloucester to extend his time with the club. <\/b><\/p>\n
The 25-year-old joined the Cherry and Whites in June 2023 following the collapse of London Irish. <\/p>\n
He has since played 28 games, although all but one of his eight Premiership appearances this season have come from the replacements’ bench. <\/p>\n
“He’s been a really exciting addition last year and he’s developing really well. I think him and Tommy [Tomos Williams] have been a great combo the last couple of games,” director of rugby George Skivington told BBC Radio Gloucestershire.<\/p>\n
“Caolan is really growing into a brilliant player, he started for us away at Northampton<\/a>, that fixture we won there, and I thought he really showed his class.” <\/p>\n Englefield is one of three number nines at Gloucester, alongside Wales international Williams and Charlie Chapman. <\/p>\n He was selected for England A, for their win against Portugal, in February last year when Skivington was acting head coach.<\/p>\n “He had a bit of exposure with England A last season which was great and I think he’s got real scope to go forward and push for higher honours in the future,” Skivington added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
