Catriona Matthew will captain Great Britain & Ireland again in the 2026 Curtis Cup against the United States at Bel-Air Country Club in Los Angeles.<\/b><\/p>\n

Matthew led the side to a thrilling 10\u00bd-9\u00bd win over the US<\/a> at Sunningdale in September – GB&I’s first Curtis Cup triumph since 2016. <\/p>\n

The two-time Solheim Cup-winning captain will seek back-to-back victories when the 44th edition of the event is held from 12-14 June 2026.<\/p>\n

The Scot, who as a player won the Curtis Cup in 1992 and helped retain it in 1994, succeeded Elaine Ratcliffe in the role before this year’s match.<\/p>\n

“The 2024 victory is right up there with anything I’ve achieved, including winning the Solheim Cup as a player and captain,” said Matthew, who won one major title, the 2009 Women’s British Open.<\/p>\n

“It’s always harder to win away from home and I’m excited for the opportunity. It is my job to again build a high-performing and motivated team who will aim to retain the trophy.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
