Britain’s OG Anunoby scored a career-high 40 points as the New York Knicks beat the Denver Nuggets 145-118. <\/b><\/p>\n

Anunoby, who was born in London to Nigerian parents and moved to the United States aged four, also recorded five rebounds and four assists. <\/p>\n

The 27-year-old’s previous best tally was 36 points while playing for the Toronto Raptors against the Knicks in November 2021. <\/p>\n

He also made five three-pointers and all of his three free throws during the game in Denver. <\/p>\n

Anunoby joined the Knicks in a trade from Toronto in December 2023 then re-signed with the team on a five-year contract this summer. <\/p>\n

He won the 2018-19 NBA Championship with the Raptors in his second NBA season – the only British player to claim the title.<\/p>\n

Karl-Anthony Towns also had 30 points and 15 rebounds against the Nuggets while team-mate Jalen Brunson scored 23 points and produced a career-high 17 assists. <\/p>\n

The Knicks scored 76 points in a dominant first-half display to help them to their fifth win in six games while the Nuggets have now lost two successive matches at home. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
