Brighton have appointed German Daniel Niedzkowski as assistant head coach.<\/b><\/p>\n

The 47-year-old will leave his role as head of the German Football Association’s (DFB) coaches training programme to join Brighton in January, subject to being granted a work permit.<\/p>\n

Fabian Hurzeler, who took over as Brighton manager this summer, trained under Niedzkowski.<\/p>\n

“He will be an excellent addition to our coaching team,” Hurzeler said.<\/p>\n

“He is somebody I know very well from Germany and have been keen to bring him to the club.”<\/p>\n

Technical director David Weir said: “He knows what it takes to get the best out of young footballers and develop them into becoming first-team players, which is something that is crucial to our own DNA.<\/p>\n

“In his role he will also support the wider development of coach education and formulate a programme which will ensure the highest possible level of coaching from the academy upwards, across both our men\u2019s and women\u2019s teams.”<\/p>\n

Niedzkowski is a former assistant coach at Bayer Leverkusen and also managed Germany Under-21s.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
