Former Australia batter Stuart Law has been sacked as coach of the men’s USA national team.<\/b><\/p>\n
Law was relieved of his duties after USA’s 10-wicket defeat by Scotland in a one-day international qualifying match for the 2027 50-over World Cup.<\/p>\n
He was only six months into a three-year contract with USA Cricket.<\/p>\n
USA were bowled out for 144 in the opening match of the World Cup League 2 in Dallas on Friday.<\/p>\n
Andrew Umeed then hit an unbeaten 98 for Scotland as they knocked off the runs at the Grand Prairie Stadium in 24.5 overs.<\/p>\n
The US had come into the match on the back of a 3-0 defeat by Nepal in a T20 series. <\/p>\n
USA face Nepal in the second match of the World Cup League 2 on Sunday.<\/p>\n
Law, 56, was appointed USA coach<\/a> in April and oversaw a memorable T20 World Cup campaign which the country co-hosted with the West Indies.<\/p>\n USA pulled off one of the biggest shocks in cricket history during the tournament by beating Pakistan<\/a> in Dallas, and went on to qualify for the Super 8s.<\/p>\n Law has previously coached Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, West Indies and Afghanistan.<\/p>\n BBC Sport has approached USA Cricket for comment.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
