Carlos Alcaraz will play Jannik Sinner in the China Open final after cruising past Daniil Medvedev in straight sets.<\/b><\/p>\n

The Spanish world number three needed 88 minutes to seal a 7-5 6-3 win against his opponent who needed two medical timeouts for treatment on his left leg.<\/p>\n

It is the 21-year-old’s eighth successive victory since his shock second-round defeat<\/a> by Botic van de Zandschulp at the US Open.<\/p>\n

World number one and defending champion Sinner reached the final with a 6-3 7-6 (7-3) win over Chinese wildcard Bu Yunchaokete.<\/p>\n

The Italian, 23, is competing in Beijing after the World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada) said on Saturday that it was appealing against the decision to clear him of blame after he twice tested positive for a banned substance.<\/p>\n

Wada said last month’s ruling by an independent tribunal to find Sinner had no fault or negligence was “not correct under the applicable rules”.<\/p>\n

It has appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas) and said the player should be banned for “between one and two years”.<\/p>\n

Sinner’s defence said he was inadvertently contaminated by the banned substance by his physiotherapist, Giacomo Naldi and when Wada’s decision was announced, he said he was “surprised” by the decision to appeal.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
