Danny Rohl hopes captain James Tavernier can bring his Rangers career to a close with a “beautiful moment” by lifting the Scottish Premiership trophy.<\/b><\/p>\n
The 34-year-old right-back announced on Wednesday he is to move on this summer after 11 years at Ibrox.<\/p>\n
Tavernier led Rangers to the title in 2021 and has won the Scottish Cup and League Cup once each.<\/p>\n
With five post-split fixtures remaining, Rangers trail leaders Hearts by one point and are two ahead of Celtic.<\/p>\n
“It’s a big one, big news for you, for us, for the club, for the fans,” said Rohl on Tavernier’s impending departure.<\/p>\n
“Since I have been here he has been a good captain, he leads the group on and off the pitch.<\/p>\n
“He’s a legend of the club and has made an amazing career here.<\/p>\n
“He saw all the good moments. He’s also saw some not so good moments and hopefully at the end of the season he can see again a beautiful moment.<\/p>\n
“For big players should have also have a big goodbye, and the biggest goodbye would be going with a title.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
