Boxing promoter Frank Warren has said that super-featherweight Ryan Garner is “on the verge” of fighting for a world title.<\/b><\/p>\n
‘The Piranha’ eased past Cristian Bielma on Saturday night, stopping his Mexican opponent in the third round of their contest at Dublin’s 3Arena. <\/p>\n
After the fight, Warren shared how impressed he was with Garner’s performance and what could come next. <\/p>\n
“He did everything that was asked of him tonight,” Warren said.<\/p>\n
“He was right on point and when he had to step it up \u2013 which is what he did \u2013 he did it in great style.<\/p>\n
“He’s there now, he’s on the verge of having a world title fight and he’s very capable of winning one.”<\/p>\n
Bielma struggled to cause any problems for Southampton’s Garner during the bout and quickly had marks on his face after taking some punishing shots. <\/p>\n
In the third round, the Mexican was backed into a corner where Garner let off a barrage of accurate shots to no reply which forced the referee to step in and end the fight. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
