Northampton Saints back row Angus Scott-Young has left the club with immediate effect to return to Australia.<\/b><\/p>\n
The 28-year-old joined the club ahead of the 2022-23 season and made 77 appearances in total, scoring four tries.<\/p>\n
He played in last season’s European Champions Cup final defeat against Bordeaux as a replacement and his last Saints appearance came in the 37-35 Prem Rugby win at Gloucester on 5 October.<\/p>\n
“It’s been an amazing experience. But now feels like the right time for me to get back home to Australia,” Brisbane-born Scott-Young told the club website., external<\/span><\/a> <\/p>\n “I went to my brother’s wedding a few weeks ago; that was the first time my family had all been together in about seven years, and I got to meet my niece for the first time. That really hit home for me, and being closer to my family became the biggest driver for this decision.”<\/p>\n Director of rugby Phil Dowson said Saints fully understood his reasons for requesting his release.<\/p>\n “Angus has been an outstanding servant to Northampton Saints, and has made a big contribution to the squad during his time here,” he said. <\/p>\n “From the moment he arrived, his attitude has been exemplary \u2013 always putting the team first, working tirelessly to improve, and setting high standards for those around him.”<\/p>\n Northampton are currently top of the Prem table, two points clear of reigning champions Bath after five games played.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
