Bayern began the 2025-26 campaign by winning the German Super Cup and they sit five points clear at the top of the Bundesliga.<\/p>\n
“The contract extension with Vincent Kompany is a strong vote of confidence from the club after the great job he’s done up to now, as well as a clear sign for continuity and stability at Bayern,” club president Herbert Hainer said.<\/p>\n
“Vincent is held in high regard by the players, the club management and the fans. We’re happy about the early extension of our cooperation.”<\/p>\n
Kompany made his name during a trophy-laden playing career with Manchester City – captaining the side and making 360 appearances and winning four Premier League titles.<\/p>\n
The defender secured his first role in the dugout as a player-manager with boyhood club Anderlecht in 2019 and took on the position full time in 2020 after announcing his retirement from playing.<\/p>\n
He led the Belgian club to two league titles before being appointed Burnley manager in 2022.<\/p>\n
Kompany won the Championship in his first season at Turf Moor but the Clarets finished 19th and were relegated from the Premier League the following campaign.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
