England midfielder Angel Gomes has announced he will leave French club Lille on a free transfer at the end of his contract this summer.<\/b><\/p>\n

The 24-year-old, who\u00a0won his first four senior caps\u00a0under\u00a0interim manager Lee Carsley last year, announced the decision on Instagram.<\/p>\n

“After\u00a0four\u00a0unforgettable\u00a0years\u00a0at\u00a0LOSC\u00a0Lille,\u00a0it’s\u00a0time\u00a0for\u00a0me to\u00a0say\u00a0goodbye,” he said.<\/p>\n

“This\u00a0club\u00a0has\u00a0been\u00a0more\u00a0than\u00a0just\u00a0a\u00a0team\u00a0–\u00a0it’s\u00a0been\u00a0a\u00a0family,\u00a0a\u00a0home,\u00a0and\u00a0a place\u00a0that\u00a0has\u00a0shaped\u00a0me\u00a0both\u00a0on\u00a0and\u00a0off\u00a0the\u00a0pitch.<\/p>\n

“Like\u00a0any\u00a0journey,\u00a0there\u00a0were\u00a0ups\u00a0and\u00a0downs,\u00a0highs\u00a0and\u00a0lows,\u00a0but\u00a0I’m\u00a0truly grateful\u00a0to\u00a0my\u00a0team-mates\u00a0and\u00a0the\u00a0fans\u00a0for\u00a0sticking\u00a0with\u00a0me\u00a0throughout.”<\/p>\n

A product of Manchester United’s academy, Gomes scored 10 goals and provided 19 assists in 134 Lille appearances across all competitions.<\/p>\n

He joined the club from United in 2020, spending his first season on loan at\u00a0Portuguese\u00a0club\u00a0Boavista\u00a0before\u00a0establishing\u00a0himself in the French league.<\/p>\n

Reports, external<\/span><\/a> have linked him with a move back to Old Trafford, with Tottenham and West Ham also said to be interested.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
