Forward Harry Thacker and scrum-half Kieron Marmion have both signed new contracts with Bristol Bears.<\/b><\/p>\n
The Premiership club have not confirmed the lengths of either contract.<\/p>\n
Thacker, 31, joined Bristol in 2018 and has scored 60 tries in 127 matches – more than any other forward for the club. <\/p>\n
Bristol director of rugby Pat Lam said hooker Thacker is a “key influence” on and off the field.<\/p>\n
“His dynamic and attacking skillset perfectly suits the Bears’ way of playing and his experience is key in a young and exciting squad,” Lam said.<\/p>\n
Thacker is one of Bristol’s longest-serving current players after joining from Leicester seven years ago.<\/p>\n
“From where the club was seven years ago, fighting to stay up, to where it is now, competing against the best in the Champions Cup, is something I take a lot of pride in,” Thacker said.<\/p>\n
“I feel this team has so much more left in it and can’t wait to play my part in that.”<\/p>\n
Ireland international Marmion has scored eight tries in 19 matches for Bristol this season so far.<\/p>\n
The 33-year-old, who has been capped 34 times by Ireland, moved to the club from Connacht in 2023.<\/p>\n
Lam said he had been “a consistent performer”. <\/p>\n
“He is a true team man who continues to compete hard with Harry Randall for the number nine shirt,” Lam said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
