The NFL will return to Brazil during the opening week of the 2025 campaign, with the Los Angeles Chargers the designated home team in Sao Paulo.<\/b><\/p>\n

Their opponents at the Corinthians Arena on 5 September – one day after the season opener – will be announced at a later date.<\/p>\n

The Corinthians Arena was the venue when the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Green Bay Packers<\/a> 34-29 in the first NFL game played in South America last September.<\/p>\n

“After a successful and memorable first game in Brazil in 2024, we are delighted to confirm the league’s return to Sao Paulo with the Los Angeles Chargers as the designated team in what will be an incredible next chapter in the market,” said NFL Brazil general manager Luis Martinez.<\/p>\n

The NFL can schedule up to eight league-operated regular-season games internationally and has already announced three in London<\/a> and one each in Berlin, Madrid and Dublin. <\/p>\n

As well as hosting the NFL’s first regular-season game in South America in 2024, the Corinthians Arena served as an official venue for both football’s 2014 Fifa World Cup and the 2016 Olympics Games.<\/p>\n

The NFL also already announced plans to hold its first game in Australia<\/a> in 2026.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
