Welsh golfer Darcey Harry starts life on the Ladies European Tour (LET) this week with the goal of qualifying for this summer’s home AIG Women’s Open.<\/b><\/p>\n

Harry begins her first LET event in Morocco on Thursday having come through qualifying school to earn a place on the tour.<\/p>\n

The 21-year-old already has her eyes on securing a place at the Women’s Open – the first major staged in Wales – which will be played at her home club, Royal Porthcawl, in late July and early August.<\/p>\n

“The AIG Women’s Open is the dream,” Harry said.<\/p>\n

“It is on my home course so I do not think I would be able to watch if I am not playing in it because I would be so, so disappointed. That is my main goal for the year.<\/p>\n

“If it does not happen then it is not meant to be, but it would be great for Wales to have home players in the event.”<\/p>\n

Harry, from Dinas Powys, is one of 52 rookies on the LET this year and will aim to make a positive impression in this week’s Lalla Meryem Cup.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
