Northampton Saints prop Luke Green has signed a contract extension for next season with the reigning Premiership champions.<\/b><\/p>\n
The 23-year-old has made 15 appearances so far this season, having arrived last summer following a spell in the United States with San Diego Legion.<\/p>\n
A former England Under-20 international, he began his career with London Irish and played for Championship club Ampthill before heading across the Atlantic.<\/p>\n
“Luke first came into the club for preseason before the 2023-24 campaign, and was really impressive \u2013 both in terms of his physical attributes and the way he applied himself,” said director of rugby Phil Dowson.<\/p>\n
“He then went away to San Diego, which only finished in August, so Luke didn’t have a long pre-season with us this year, but again what we did see in that time was his strong appetite to get better. <\/p>\n
“Luke’s a very coachable player. It speaks volumes that he’s been getting so much gametime, and he’s there on merit.”<\/p>\n
Three of Green’s appearances came in the European Champions Cup and he said: “It’s a great club, a great environment, and a place where I feel everyone wants to improve and get better, from top to bottom.”<\/p>\n
Northampton, meanwhile, have signed Australian teenager Charlie Ulcoq on a deal to the end of the current season.<\/p>\n
The 18-year-old back row, formerly with New South Wales Waratahs, joins the club’s senior academy. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
