Ireland claimed a 2-0 Twenty20 international series victory against the United Arab Emirates with a 30-run win over the hosts in Dubai.

Heinrich Malan’s side recorded a 57-run victory over the UAE on Thursday and secured the series on Saturday as they continue their preparations for their opening T20 World Cup match against Sri Lanka in Colombo on 8 February.

Ireland lost the toss and had to bat first, with Ross Adair managing two fours before he was dismissed off the final delivery of the over from Junaid Siddique.

Captain Paul Stirling (14) and Harry Tector (20) were the next to go but Ireland remained steady with Ben Calitz (14) and Lorcan Tucker (12) continuing to grow their tally.

The partnership of Curtis Campher (54 not out) and Mark Adair (34 not out) proved fruitful as they helped Ireland to 170-7 at the end of their 20 overs.

Ireland required 3.5 overs to claim their first wicket with Barry McCarthy taking out UAE captain Muhammad Waseem (12) and he then also dismissed Haidir Ali.

Gareth Delaney and George Dockrell also claimed two wickets apiece, with the latter removing Aryansh Sharma for 54.

Mark Adair and Matthew Humprehys managed one wicket each with the hosts all out for 140.
