Cavell’s family are Chelsea fans and she has followed in their footsteps by becoming a season ticket holder at Stamford Bridge.
“My mum’s side of the family are Battersea born and bred and my dad’s side were from Fulham, so Chelsea is all I’ve ever known!” she told BBC Sport.
“I have quite literally been a fan since I was a baby. There is a picture of me, a few months old, at Stamford Bridge [see Paige’s TikTok story here, or below], external on the pitch and touching the goal post.
“One of the best days of my life was a few years back, when my picture was put up at the stadium. Having been a fan ever since I can remember, it was crazy really.
“We had gone to the 2017 FA Cup final at Wembley and had good seats near the front – there were a load of photographers there taking pictures of the fans so, for a joke, I told my mum I was going to get in the programme. I started singing really loudly and held my scarf up for the cameras.
“A few months later, at the start of the following season, I got a phone call from one of my mates telling me there was a picture of me up at the stadium.
“I wasn’t actually at that game, which was a bit annoying, so I was like ‘are you joking me!?!’.
“Honestly, to this day, it was possibly one of the best days of my life when I got to see it for myself, although my brother was fuming because he is a huge Chelsea fan too and he was going ‘why wasn’t that me!?’
“I must say, as I’ve got older, being a Chelsea fan has become a little bit harder. When I was younger, we used to go to all the parades but obviously we’ve not won much recently.
“I think that my love for them has actually grown during all these rubbish times though. When, you’re in the crowd with people going ‘oh for god’s sake’ when things go wrong or after the game with everyone walking back to Fulham Broadway Station in silence, you realise how you stay together whatever happens.
“Every team goes through ups and downs and as much as we all want to be on top all the time, that just doesn’t happen in football.”
