The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 1.8%, and the Nasdaq jumped 2.9%.<!-- --><\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-eb7bd5f6-0 fYAfXe\">Stocks in Asia made modest gains, recovering some of the losses from earlier in the week. Both Hong Kong&#8217;s Hang Seng Index and South Korea&#8217;s Kospi rose by more than 1%.
