Scottish school pupils waiting for their exam results have received emails from the SQA with a blank space where their grades should be. <\/p>\n

Some youngsters have been sent a text which does include their results, but some have not. <\/p>\n

The SQA, in a statement on X<\/a>, said it was aware of an issue affecting pupils who signed up to receive their results by email only. <\/p>\n

It said it was working urgently to resolve the issue.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The exams body said text results were not impacted, and that the \u201cvast majority of learners who signed up to MySQA are receiving their results as expected\u201d.<\/p>\n

It added: \u201cAll learners across Scotland will also receive their physical certificate today via post.\u201d<\/p>\n

The SQA helpline said at about 09:00 that results should arrive within the next half hour for those still waiting. <\/p>\n

Some pupils are also understood to have been sent Ucas responses for university and college applications before they had received their exam results.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Cameron Falconer, 16, was among those who received a blank email.<\/p>\n

He signed up for the email and text service as he knew he would be away from home at a gymnastics training camp in Largs when the results were due to arrive.<\/p>\n

Cameron received an email at 08:10 that was blank in the section where his results should be and has not yet received a text.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cIt\u2019s making me feel more nervous. When I saw it at first I thought I\u2019d got not qualifications. <\/p>\n

“It\u2019s making me feel quite upset to be honest\u201d.<\/p>\n

About 145,000 Scots are receiving their results – including candidates in Nationals, Highers and Advanced Highers.<\/p>\n

Dozens of parents and pupils, including some who were on overseas holidays and would not have access to postal votes, voiced frustration with the SQA on social media. <\/p>\n

Simon Luxford-Moore, head of learning at Erskine Stewart’s Melville Schools in Edinburgh, urged the SQA to fix the email issue<\/a> affecting pupils.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe wait is torturous for them,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Moira and Christopher were affected by the results delays<\/figcaption><\/p>\n<\/figure>\n
\n

Both Moira and Christopher got their National 5 results email more than 90 minutes late.<\/p>\n

Christopher, 16, from Aberdeen, did not get an email or text initially.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been a nerve-wracking day today and as the day went on it became more and more worrying,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Moira Veenboer, 15, from Edinburgh, initially received an email but it was blank.<\/p>\n

She said: \u201cI found out from a lot of my friends that it happened to them too. I\u2019m a bit annoyed, but what\u2019s done is done.\u201d<\/p>\n

Both received their results shortly after 09:30 and said they felt \u201crelieved and happy\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
