Google<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\nA school has paid tribute to a boy who drowned while on an end-of-year trip to the Lake District.<\/p>\n Abuzr Mirza, 16, from Burnley, Lancashire, drowned in the lake at Windermere on 24 July.<\/p>\n Darul Uloom Dawatul Imaan, the school he attended in Bradford, said the “tragic event” had a “profound effect” on the school community.<\/p>\n “Abuzr was a lovely pupil who touched the lives of many with his warmth and kindness,” a spokesperson said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The school said it was cooperating with investigations by Cumbria Police and the Health and Safety Executive, which looks into the possible culpability of businesses in deaths and injuries.<\/p>\n An inquest into the circumstances of the teenager’s death is due to be opened by Cumbria Coroners Court on 13 August.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Abuzr’s father, Osman Beg, previously paid tribute to his son on Facebook.<\/p>\n “He was and still is a perfect son, I wish everyone is blessed with a son like my son,” he said in the post.<\/p>\n The Lake District National Park Authority confirmed the boy had been at the visitor centre at Brockhole on Windermere before entering the lake.<\/p>\n A search for the teenager began shortly after 17:00 BST and his body was found at about 23:45.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The school said everyone was “heartbroken” and the teenager would be “greatly missed”.<\/p>\n “Our thoughts and prayers are with Abuzr\u2019s family and friends during this incredibly difficult time,” the spokesperson said.<\/p>\n “Our pupils and staff have come together in special assemblies and events to remember Abuzr and support one another.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n‘Perfect son’<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n
