Vanessa Trump, the former wife of Donald Trump Jr, has announced that she is cancer-free following her breast cancer diagnosis earlier this year.<\/b><\/p>\n
Trump, 48, who has five children with President Donald Trump’s eldest son, shared in a short video on her 19-year-old daughter Kai’s Instagram account that her recent tests results “came back clear, so I’m finally cancer-free”.<\/p>\n
The video, posted on Friday, teases the release of a longer YouTube video to come on Saturday, in which Vanessa and Kai Trump will discuss breast cancer awareness and prevention, Kai wrote in the caption. <\/p>\n
Vanessa Trump separated from Trump Jr in 2018 and announced last year that she had begun dating US pro golfer Tiger Woods.<\/p>\n
“October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness about early detection, education, and support for those affected by breast cancer,” Kai Trump wrote on Instagram. <\/p>\n
“I sat down with my mom and Dr. Nicole Saphier to talk about my mom’s journey with breast cancer and learn more about prevention and early detection,” she continued.<\/p>\n
Kai’s post received over 20,000 likes and hundreds of comments from people offering support and well wishes, including from American singer and media personality Mary Millben. <\/p>\n
In Friday’s video, Trump said she was first diagnosed with breast cancer in April. She publicly announced the diagnosis <\/a>in May, saying in a social media post that she had undergone surgery and was working on a treatment plan with her medical team. <\/p>\n According to the American Cancer Society, the average risk of a woman in the US developing breast cancer is about 1 in 8, or 13%. The disease also accounts for 30% of all new female cancers every year, according to the group.<\/p>\n Surgery cures most breast cancers, but if some disease remains, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and endocrine therapy can reduce the long-term risk.<\/p>\n Treatments have been advancing, including more targeted therapies for early breast cancer, new types of hormonal therapies, and more precise and effective radiotherapy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
