Speaking after the hearing, Davies said: “This is, unfortunately, a travesty of justice. <\/p>\n
“It’s yet another example of a black officer being retaliated against for speaking up. <\/p>\n
“We will be appealing. This will end up at the employment tribunal, and at the end of all of that process, hopefully justice will be done.”<\/p>\n
Efeotor said: “I’m not surprised. This is what happens when you stand up for yourself and stand up for people that can’t speak for themselves. <\/p>\n
“There are people who have done things far worse than what I’ve done, who are still employed by the Met. They just happen to have lighter skin.”<\/p>\n
In a statement released after the hearing, Commander Adam Slonecki, head of Specialist Operations, said: “Our officers can be in no doubt as to how they are expected to act on social media, and it is clear that PC Efeotor breached these standards on many occasions and despite repeated warnings.<\/p>\n
“Not only does behaviour like this undermine public confidence in the Met, but it had a harmful and lasting impact on those he openly criticised, as well as the rest of his colleagues.”<\/p>\n
