The body of a dog has been found in “suspicious circumstances” on the border between Wales and England. <\/b><\/p>\n
The RSPCA has launched an appeal after the discovery of the black lurcher on Moor Lane, Kinnerton, near Buckley, in Flintshire, on Wednesday at 09:30 BST. <\/p>\n
The charity said the dog appeared to have been dumped.<\/p>\n
It added the male animal was chipped and wearing a black collar with metal bone-shaped studs and a blank nametag, along with some blue rope. <\/p>\n
The charity said it traced the dog to an owner in north Wales who said they had rehomed it as a puppy. <\/p>\n
The animal was then traced to a second keeper in north Wales who said they too rehomed it as it did not get on with another pet.<\/p>\n
RSPCA animal rescue officer Bethany Newis said: “We are now trying to trace the person who took on the dog after this.<\/p>\n
“The lurcher would have been three in October and the fact that his body appears to have been dumped does raise suspicions, but sadly the body was too decomposed to establish an exact cause of death.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
