{"id":58295,"date":"2026-08-08T15:37:54","date_gmt":"2026-08-08T15:37:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.godj.com\/news\/fleadh-the-people-using-music-to-bring-others-together\/"},"modified":"2026-08-08T15:37:54","modified_gmt":"2026-08-08T15:37:54","slug":"fleadh-the-people-using-music-to-bring-others-together","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.godj.com\/news\/fleadh-the-people-using-music-to-bring-others-together\/","title":{"rendered":"Fleadh: The people using music to bring others together"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\"><b class=\"ssrcss-1xjjfut-BoldText e5tfeyi3\">As the largest Irish music festival in the world, <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/articles\/cdrv0z3lvx7o\" class=\"ssrcss-1e0jzsh-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\"><b class=\"ssrcss-1xjjfut-BoldText e5tfeyi3\">Fleadh Cheoil na h\u00c9ireann<\/b><\/a><b class=\"ssrcss-1xjjfut-BoldText e5tfeyi3\">, continued in Belfast on Saturday, those in attendance were also able to experience music from other countries and cultures throughout the world.<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Tunes Translated is an intercultural music integration project that brings together migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers with the indigenous population of Belfast. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">On Saturday the group hosted a concert and its organiser Catherine Crean said there were 22 different nationalities performing in the band.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">She said they use &#8220;indigenous and international music&#8221; to bring those groups of people together.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;This is the first Fleadh we have performed in and it&#8217;s been crazy, we have had an event every single day. I just think it&#8217;s been amazing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;Music is such a powerful tool for integration as it&#8217;s a universal language. We specifically take tunes from the participants home countries.
