Premier League newcomers <\/b>Coventry City<\/b><\/a> have completed the club-record signing of Ghana midfielder Caleb Yirenkyi.<\/b><\/p>\n

The 20-year-old has signed a long-term contract, with the Sky Blues believed to have paid Danish side Nordsjaelland a fee of 27m euros (\u00a323.1m), plus 3m euros (\u00a32.5m) in add-ons.<\/p>\n

Yirenkyi made his international debut in May 2025 and played at this summer’s World Cup, scoring a stoppage-time winner in the Black Stars’ group win over Panama.<\/p>\n

He becomes Coventry’s fifth summer signing after Frank Lampard led the club back into the top flight after a 25-year absence. <\/p>\n

“When I spoke to the head coach about the plans and the style, it’s something I really like, and I look forward to learning from him,” said Yirenkyi.<\/p>\n

“I’m still young so I want to learn from the head coach, the other players and work really hard for the team.”<\/p>\n

He is a product of the Right to Dream academy<\/a> and joined Nordsjaelland in 2024, winning the Danish Superliga’s young player of the year award last season.<\/p>\n

Although primarily a midfielder, Yirenkyi is known for his versatility having played at right-back for both club and country.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
