Under the banner of the White Rose, people across four counties have been celebrating Yorkshire Day with parades, festivals and music. <\/b><\/p>\n

From brass bands on Emley Moor to mayoral puddings, we round up what’s been going on this 1 August to celebrate “God’s own”.<\/p>\n

Near Huddersfield, the Emley Moor Brass Band gave a special performance beneath the 330m (1,084 ft) tall Emley Moor Transmitter.<\/p>\n

Flugelhorn player Laura Murphy said Yorkshire Day was “the best day of the year”.<\/p>\n

“Growing up in Huddersfield, as soon as we saw the mast, you knew you were home. <\/p>\n

“It’s been a constant throughout my life. You look up and you see the mast. Playing here is something I’ll definitely be telling people about,” she said. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
