{"id":57134,"date":"2026-07-22T08:55:55","date_gmt":"2026-07-22T08:55:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.godj.com\/news\/new-prince-george-photo-released-for-his-13th-birthday\/"},"modified":"2026-07-22T08:55:55","modified_gmt":"2026-07-22T08:55:55","slug":"new-prince-george-photo-released-for-his-13th-birthday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.godj.com\/news\/new-prince-george-photo-released-for-his-13th-birthday\/","title":{"rendered":"New Prince George photo released for his 13th birthday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\"><b class=\"ssrcss-1xjjfut-BoldText e5tfeyi3\">A new photograph of Prince George has been issued by Kensington Palace to mark his 13th birthday.<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The photo of the prince was published on social media with a message which read &#8220;Happy 13th birthday, George!&#8221; alongside a party popper emoji.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The picture was taken at Kensington Palace last month straight after the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/articles\/cpv3mmlg872o\" class=\"ssrcss-1e0jzsh-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\">Trooping the Colour ceremony<\/a>, by photographer Matt Porteous.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">George, the elder son of the Prince and Princess of Wales, is second in line to the throne.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">It is a big year for Prince George, who as well as entering his teens, will also start secondary school in September.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The prince will follow in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/articles\/clyx4jd9kkdo\" class=\"ssrcss-1e0jzsh-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\">his father Prince William&#8217;s footsteps and go to Eton College<\/a>, an elite private school where entry usually begins at the age of 13.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Prince George&#8217;s uncle, Prince Harry, and great uncle, Earl Spencer, also attended the elite boarding school for boys.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">George will now become a boarder, at one of the Eton&#8217;s 25 boarding houses. Each house have approximately 55 pupils, looked after by residential staff headed by a house master.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">He previously studied at Lambrook School in Berkshire, alongside his sister Charlotte and brother Louis.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The young prince has been gradually introduced to a public role, including going with Prince William to help at a charity for the homeless at Christmas.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">In June, he joined King Charles and other senior royals for the Trooping the Colour parade in London, to mark the sovereign&#8217;s official birthday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Earlier this month, he was seen with his parents at this year&#8217;s Wimbledon tennis championships.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/articles\/cm2ge7z0708o?at_medium=RSS&#038;at_campaign=rss\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A new photograph of Prince George has been issued by Kensington Palace to mark his 13th birthday.
