A British family on holiday in Bedar has described the “terrifying” experience of escaping one of Spain’s deadliest wildfires. <\/p>\n

Twelve people in the village – among them four Britons – were killed, according to Spanish authorities. <\/p>\n

Another 23 people are still missing. Lucinda Curtois, who arrived in Spain with her partner Riyaz Cheytan and their teenage children on Thursday, said they were not “expecting to hit a wall of fire”. <\/p>\n

They later found out that some close family friends had lost their lives. <\/p>\n

“They left their home on foot, I don’t know why,” she said. “I can only presume it was probably because their road was cut off because they live out in the countryside.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
