Calum McCombie died after getting into difficulty while surfing in Australia<\/figcaption><\/p>\n<\/figure>\n

A funeral is to be held for an Aberdeen man who died in a surfing accident in Australia.<\/p>\n

Calum McCombie, 36, got into difficulty when his surfboard snapped off the coast of Frankston, Victoria, about 33 miles (54km) from Melbourne on 22 October during high winds.<\/p>\n

Rescue crews were able to pull Mr McCombie and his friend, 43, from the water but they could not be saved.<\/p>\n

Mr McCombie’s funeral is scheduled to be held on 24 November.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In a short statement posted on social media, they wrote: “Calum will be sorely missed and be forever in our hearts.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n
