{"id":40307,"date":"2025-10-31T22:23:33","date_gmt":"2025-10-31T22:23:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.godj.com\/news\/patient-records-accessed-in-nhs-lothian-data-breach\/"},"modified":"2025-10-31T22:23:33","modified_gmt":"2025-10-31T22:23:33","slug":"patient-records-accessed-in-nhs-lothian-data-breach","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.godj.com\/news\/patient-records-accessed-in-nhs-lothian-data-breach\/","title":{"rendered":"Patient records accessed in NHS Lothian data breach"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div data-component=\"text-block\">\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">The medical records of some NHS Lothian patients have been accessed in a data breach.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">The breach is believed to have been spotted during a routine audit last month.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">The number of patients affected has not been confirmed by the health board.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">It said the &#8220;appropriate action&#8221; had been taken.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-component=\"text-block\">\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">Dr Tracey Gillies, medical director at NHS Lothian, said: &#8220;Routine monitoring suggested that patient records had been accessed inappropriately and an immediate investigation was launched.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">&#8220;Appropriate action has been taken.
