The fire happened in Gardenstown last week<\/figcaption><\/p>\n<\/figure>\n

Human remains have been found in the search for a woman after a house fire in Aberdeenshire.<\/p>\n

The blaze took hold of the property on Harbour Road in the Seatown area of Gardenstown in the early hours of Thursday.<\/p>\n

A man was taken to hospital and a woman was reported missing.<\/p>\n

Police Scotland confirmed remains were found inside the house on Tuesday afternoon. Though formal identification has yet to take place, the family of the missing woman has been informed.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Police said specialist teams would continue to work at the scene and a joint investigation is being carried out with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The difficult-to-access area of the house fire in Gardenstown has been closed off<\/figcaption><\/p>\n<\/figure>\n

On Monday, the force set up a 10-day road closure at the site for its investigation.<\/p>\n

Aberdeenshire Council said the closure was in the interests of public safety.<\/p>\n

The area where the house fire happened is narrow, making access difficult.<\/p>\n

Access will be provided for emergency services and vehicles needing to get to properties.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n
