{"id":34463,"date":"2025-08-05T16:19:14","date_gmt":"2025-08-05T16:19:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.godj.com\/news\/michael-jackson-tribute-album-reports-false\/"},"modified":"2025-08-05T16:19:14","modified_gmt":"2025-08-05T16:19:14","slug":"michael-jackson-tribute-album-reports-false","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.godj.com\/news\/michael-jackson-tribute-album-reports-false\/","title":{"rendered":"Michael Jackson tribute album reports &#8216;false&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div data-component=\"text-block\">\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">K-pop band BTS have denied reports they are due to appear on a Michael Jackson tribute album.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">The group were also said to be in line to record an unreleased track written by the singer at an Irish recording studio during a stay in the country in 2006.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">Some fan accounts linked the Korean act to <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.ie\/tvandshowbiz\/15635382\/michael-jacksons-next-thriller-ireland-released-westmeath\/\" class=\"sc-f9178328-0 bGFWdi\">a report in The Sun<\/a> that originally said the group were among &#8220;superstar artists&#8221; due to make new versions for the album before the claim was removed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">In <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/bts_bighit\/status\/1952574272335233169\" class=\"sc-f9178328-0 bGFWdi\">a message on X<\/a>, BTS posted a message stating that the idols had not been &#8220;in any recording sessions at the location mentioned&#8221; and that the group was not &#8220;involved in the tribute album in any capacity&#8221;.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-component=\"text-block\">\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">The band&#8217;s management moved to squash the rumours after some fan accounts announced their involvement in the project, with some even stating that recording sessions had taken place.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">According to The Sun, Jackson spent time at Grouse Lodge Studios, County Westmeath, in 2006 after being acquitted of child abuse allegations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">Studio owner Paddy Dunny told the paper Jackson was working on a planned comeback during his time in Ireland, but died in 2009 before completing work on the project. <\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">A quote attributed to Mr Dunny &#8211; which was removed from a later version of the story &#8211; said BTS had been at the site to record one of the songs he left behind.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">BTS have been compared to the so-called &#8220;King of Pop&#8221; by critics due to their cultural impact and international fame.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">They were also mentioned in a documentary marking the 40th anniversary of Thriller, one of Jackson&#8217;s most famous hits.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">BTS are set to return next year after going on hiatus in 2022 due to mandatory military service laws in South Korea.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">BBC Newsbeat has approached Grouse Lodge Studios and The Sun&#8217;s publishers for comment.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/articles\/cdx0nykpxdko?at_medium=RSS&#038;at_campaign=rss\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>K-pop band BTS have denied reports they are due to appear on a Michael Jackson tribute album.
