Two men killed in a stabbing at a business in south-east London have been named as a father and son.<\/p>\n

Terry McMillan, 58, from Chislehurst, was pronounced dead at the scene and his son Brendan McMillan, 27, died in hospital following the stabbing on Long Lane in Bermondsey at 13:00 BST on Monday.<\/p>\n

A 31-year old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in hospital, although his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.<\/p>\n

A fourth man, who is in his 30s, is in a life-threatening condition in hospital, the Metropolitan Police said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The victims’ families are being supported by specialist officers, the force added. <\/p>\n

The stabbing took place near housing provider Trademark Homes.<\/p>\n

Terry McMillan set up a company in 1998, now known as the Trademark Group, specialising in property development and investment, according to the McMillan Family Trust, a charity which aims to transform the lives of young people in different communities.<\/p>\n

Scotland Yard said that “a crime scene is in place at a nearby hotel where the arrested man went into”, adding that he was not staying there.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Old Colfeians Rugby Club, in Lee, south-east London, paid tribute to Brendan McMillan as “a member of our family” and his father as a “long-time supporter and sponsor of the club”.<\/p>\n

In a post on Instagram, it wrote: “Yesterday, Old Colfeians lost a member of our family, one of the kindest, funniest, most genuine people you could ever meet.<\/p>\n

“Brendan lit up every room he walked into, forever smiling, always cracking a joke and always full of life. <\/p>\n

“His absence will be deeply felt for a long time to come. We will miss him more than words can say and we’ll always carry his memory with us.<\/p>\n

“Our thoughts and prayers are with their family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Labour MP Neil Coyle, who represents Bermondsey and Old Southwark, described the stabbings as “truly awful” and said it was “a targeted, isolated incident”.<\/p>\n

A resident, who asked not to be named, said: “It’s terrifying. I walk past there all the time – it makes you feel really uneasy.<\/p>\n

“You just don’t expect something like this to happen on a normal weekday.”<\/p>\n

Det Ch Supt Emma Bond said: “Our thoughts are first and foremost with the family and friends of the victims of this tragic incident. <\/p>\n

“Our investigation continues at pace and we are working hard to understand the full circumstances.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
