Wales’ women claimed their first victory at the inaugural FIH Women’s Nations Cup 2 in Poland with a hard-fought 2-0 win against Czechia.<\/b><\/p>\n

In head coach Kevin Johnson’s 100th game in charge, the first period finished goalless before Elizabeth Bingham put Wales ahead midway through the second quarter.<\/p>\n

Beth Peers, winning only her second cap, then added to the goal she scored in the opening 3-3 draw against Italy, doubling Wales’ lead with six minutes remaining.<\/p>\n

The victory put Johnson’s side top of Pool B in advance of France playing their second fixture against Italy later on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Czechia are bottom of the table, having lost their opening match 3-0 against the French side who are Wales’ final opponents in the group stage on Thursday.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
