Marulanda, was also taken but was rescued a few hours later.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-reactid=\".1g3ysbwtggs.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-5\"><a data-reactid=\".1g3ysbwtggs.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-6.$link-2.0\">Diaz scored twice in a win against Brazil<\/span><\/a><span data-reactid=\".1g3ysbwtggs.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-6.3\"> in a 2026 World Cup qualifier in Barranquilla as his father watched from the stands.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-reactid=\".1g3ysbwtggs.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-7\"><span data-reactid=\".1g3ysbwtggs.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-7.0\">In providing support for Diaz, Liverpool chartered a plane for Diaz and his wider family on Friday to bring them to Merseyside and help the family following their traumatic experience.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-reactid=\".1g3ysbwtggs.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-8\"><span data-reactid=\".1g3ysbwtggs.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-8.0\">The winger will join up with them when he returns from international duty, with Colombia away to Paraguay on Tuesday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-reactid=\".1g3ysbwtggs.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-9\"><span data-reactid=\".1g3ysbwtggs.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-9.0\">Diaz missed two Liverpool games while his father was being held by Colombia&#8217;s National Liberation Army (ELN) guerrilla group after being abducted on 28 October.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-reactid=\".1g3ysbwtggs.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-10\"><span data-reactid=\".1g3ysbwtggs.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-10.0\">The winger then came off the bench to score an equaliser during added time in a 1-1 Premier League draw at Luton on 5 November.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-reactid=\".1g3ysbwtggs.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-11\"><span
