{"id":29069,"date":"2025-05-16T19:10:11","date_gmt":"2025-05-16T19:10:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.godj.com\/news\/tesco-resolves-software-issue-after-customers-flag-app-problems\/"},"modified":"2025-05-16T19:10:11","modified_gmt":"2025-05-16T19:10:11","slug":"tesco-resolves-software-issue-after-customers-flag-app-problems","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.godj.com\/news\/tesco-resolves-software-issue-after-customers-flag-app-problems\/","title":{"rendered":"Tesco resolves &#8216;software issue&#8217; after customers flag app problems"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div data-component=\"text-block\">\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">Tesco has apologised after IT problems left some customers unable to alter online orders or access digital versions of their Clubcards.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">People took to social media to complain about a series of problems with the company&#8217;s website and mobile app on Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">&#8220;We have fixed a software issue that temporarily impacted customers using our website and app this afternoon,&#8221; a Tesco spokesperson told the BBC. <\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">&#8220;We&#8217;re sorry for the inconvenience.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">Customers on social media listed multiple problems with its services, including<b id=\"\" class=\"sc-d16436d-0 jpoiOL\"> <\/b>being unable to process changes to online orders.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">Tesco&#8217;s account on X replied to one user <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Tesco\/status\/1923384425632440443\" class=\"sc-f9178328-0 bGFWdi\">saying it was having<\/a> &#8220;intermittent system issues at the moment which the IT team are currently working hard to resolve.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">Outage monitoring site Downdetector showed increased levels of reported problems with Tesco&#8217;s website and app shortly after 14:00 BST. <\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">Reports began to decline roughly two hours later.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">The supermarket chain &#8211; the UK&#8217;s biggest &#8211; said in early 2024 that its Clubcard loyalty scheme, offering shoppers discounts on products in-store and online, had more than 20m members.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">One social media user <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Julie74656\/status\/1923392459326796132\" class=\"sc-f9178328-0 bGFWdi\">said on X<\/a> they had been encountering issues with the supermarket&#8217;s app and website for about four hours.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">Tesco told them in a reply that the services were experiencing &#8220;technical issues&#8221; and asked them to &#8220;try again later&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">Others have said they were unable to pull up their Clubcard on their Tesco app to collect points or use vouchers while shopping.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">Two other major retailers Marks and Spencer (M&amp;S) and the Co-op have suffered massive disruption in recent weeks, in their cases due to cyber attacks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">There is no suggestion Tesco&#8217;s problems were due to hackers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/articles\/c8re57856jmo\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tesco has apologised after IT problems left some customers unable to alter online orders or access digital versions of their Clubcards.
