A man was severely injured in Wednesday’s attack, they said. <\/p>\n
A 22-year-old Polish man has been arrested. His motives remain unclear.<\/p>\n
The university described the attack as a “huge tragedy”. It described the woman as a member of staff – without giving other details – and the man as a security guard.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
The attacker entered the college campus at 18:40 local time (16:40 GMT).<\/p>\n
From there he proceeded into a lecture hall, according to a spokesperson for the district prosecutor.<\/p>\n
Few details have emerged about what happened afterwards.<\/p>\n
Polish news outlet, Gazeta Wyborcza Daily says that the attacker was a third-year law student. There is no official confirmation.<\/p>\n
“We express our great sorrow and sympathy to the family and loved ones,” the rector of the university said in a statement, adding that 8 May would be a day of mourning for the institution.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
