A 34-year-old man has been charged after a car was driven into a row of shops in Inverness and set on fire.<\/p>\n

Several units at Fairways Business Park were destroyed in the overnight blaze on Saturday 8 March.<\/p>\n

Police Scotland said officers had arrested a man and charged him with wilful fire-raising.<\/p>\n

Det Insp Caroline MacKay said: “As the investigation into this fire continues, we would like to thank the local community for their co-operation and support.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

A fish shop, travel agent, bakers, barbers and hairdressers were torched in the blaze.<\/p>\n

An individual in dark clothing and a balaclava had been seen running from the incident. <\/p>\n

The fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service. There were no injuries.<\/p>\n

The 34-year-old man is due to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court later.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n
