Detectives investigating the death of a man in South Lanarkshire have made an arrest.<\/p>\n
Iain Kennedy, 32, was found seriously injured in a property on Fairholm Street, Larkhall, at about 22:00 on Saturday.<\/p>\n
Mr Kennedy, who lived in the town, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where he later died.<\/p>\n
Police Scotland said a 27-year-old man has been charged in connection with the death.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
The suspect was due to appear before Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday.<\/p>\n
In a statement, Mr Kennedy’s family said: “Iain was a much-loved brother, son and friend.<\/p>\n
“He will be missed by all who knew him and we would ask that we are given privacy to come to terms with our loss at this time.”<\/p>\n
Det Insp Mark Dines said: “Our thoughts are with Mr Kennedy’s family and friends at this most difficult time. Officers are continuing to provide his family with support.”<\/p>\n
Chief Insp Neil Smith, local area commander, said additional patrols would be carried out in a bid to reassure the local community.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
