I will issue an executive order on Monday to extend the period of time before the law&#8217;s prohibitions take effect, so that we can make a deal to protect our national security.&#8221;<!-- --><\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-eb7bd5f6-0 fYAfXe\">TikTok&#8217;s parent company, Bytedance, previously ignored a law requiring it to sell its US operations to avoid a ban. The law <!-- --><a target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/articles\/cz6p1g54q85o\" class=\"sc-c9299ecf-0 bZUiKB\">was upheld by Supreme Court on Friday and went into effect on Sunday<!-- --><\/a>.<!-- --><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-component=\"text-block\" class=\"sc-18fde0d6-0 dlWCEZ\">\n<p class=\"sc-eb7bd5f6-0 fYAfXe\">The platform is wildly popular among its many millions of US users.
