Police have said they are making enquiries after receiving a report of a man impersonating a police officer in Ballymena.<\/p>\n
At about 19:30 on Saturday the police said they received a report of a dark-coloured Audi A3, driven by a man, used flashing lights on his vehicle to stop another car in Crankill Road.<\/p>\n
The driver believed this to be a police vehicle and pulled over, but became suspicious after the man could not produce any form of official police identification and was not wearing a uniform.<\/p>\n
Police said the driver then drove off and was followed by the man in his vehicle, which they believe had two other passengers inside, for a short time. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
The police said the man is described as being aged in his 20s and of slim build. <\/p>\n
They said he was also wearing a woolly hat, grey tracksuit bottoms and a jacket.<\/p>\n
Police said their enquiries are at an early stage and are continuing to determine who was involved and establishing a motive. <\/p>\n
The police said that it is an offence to impersonate a police officer, adding this type of behaviour will be dealt with by way of investigation and potential prosecution.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
