on its position with Sinn F\u00e9in<!-- --><\/figcaption><\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<div data-component=\"text-block\" class=\"sc-18fde0d6-0 dlWCEZ\">\n<p class=\"sc-eb7bd5f6-0 fYAfXe\">Former Finance Minister, Fianna F\u00e1il\u2019s Jack Chambers, who was re-elected in the Dublin West constituency, said his party was &#8220;very clear&#8221; on its position with Sinn F\u00e9in.<!-- --><\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-eb7bd5f6-0 fYAfXe\">\u201cThere is no common ground when it comes to substance in policy,&#8221; he added.<!-- --><\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-eb7bd5f6-0 fYAfXe\">Speaking to the BBC&#8217;s Good Morning Ulster, Chambers said: \u201cWe\u2019re going to significantly increase our representation here in the capital of Dublin and indeed across the country. <!-- --><\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-eb7bd5f6-0 fYAfXe\">&#8220;And we will have a greater level of representation in the next D\u00e1il than we did in the last one, and that\u2019s having served in government when we had serious economic challenges.&#8221;<!-- --><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--$!--><!--\/$--><\/p>\n<p><h2 class=\"sc-518485e5-0 kRvAla\">&#8216;Working well together&#8217;<!-- --><\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<div data-component=\"text-block\" class=\"sc-18fde0d6-0 dlWCEZ\">\n<p class=\"sc-eb7bd5f6-0 fYAfXe\">Among the new Teachta\u00ed D\u00e1la (TDs), as members of the D\u00e1il are known, is Fine Gael&#8217;s Emer Currie.<!-- --><\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-eb7bd5f6-0 fYAfXe\">The former Irish senator is a daughter of the late Northern Ireland politician Austin Currie, who co-founded the Social Democratic and Labour Party.<!-- --><\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-eb7bd5f6-0 fYAfXe\">&#8220;He would have been absolutely delighted,&#8221; Currie told Good Morning Ulster, adding that her election was a &#8220;very special&#8221; moment for her whole family. <!-- --><\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-eb7bd5f6-0 fYAfXe\">With her party in line to return to government, Currie said the result of the election seemed to indicate that the public was content with the status quo. <!-- --><\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-eb7bd5f6-0 fYAfXe\">&#8220;It\u2019s a statement that they felt that Fine Gael and Fianna F\u00e1il were working well together,&#8221; she said. <!-- --><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-component=\"text-block\" class=\"sc-18fde0d6-0 dlWCEZ\">\n<p class=\"sc-eb7bd5f6-0 fYAfXe\">Sinn F\u00e9in&#8217;s Mair\u00e9ad Farrell, who topped the poll in Galway West, said Sinn F\u00e9in were going to speak &#8220;to other progressive parties&#8221; to consider &#8220;how we can move forward&#8221;.<!-- --><\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-eb7bd5f6-0 fYAfXe\">&#8220;We\u2019ve always been very clear that we want to be in government, we believe strongly that there needs to be a mandate for change and that all parties should listen to the electorate,&#8221;
