{"id":18230,"date":"2024-12-01T18:05:11","date_gmt":"2024-12-01T18:05:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.godj.com\/news\/police-investigate-death-of-woman-at-nightclub\/"},"modified":"2024-12-01T18:05:11","modified_gmt":"2024-12-01T18:05:11","slug":"police-investigate-death-of-woman-at-nightclub","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.godj.com\/news\/police-investigate-death-of-woman-at-nightclub\/","title":{"rendered":"Police investigate death of woman at nightclub"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div data-component=\"text-block\">\n<p class=\"sc-eb7bd5f6-0 fYAfXe\">Police are investigating the death of a woman at Lux nightclub in Belfast City Centre in the early hours of Sunday morning.<!-- --><\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-eb7bd5f6-0 fYAfXe\">Police, paramedics and fire crews were called to the venue at about 02:20 GMT after reports that two women had fallen unconscious.<!-- --><\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-eb7bd5f6-0 fYAfXe\">Police said that when they arrived one of the women, who was in her 20s, had died.<!-- --><\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-eb7bd5f6-0 fYAfXe\">The other woman was taken to hospital where she is undergoing treatment.<!-- --><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-component=\"text-block\">\n<p class=\"sc-eb7bd5f6-0 fYAfXe\">In a statement, a spokesperson for Lux said: &#8220;Our thoughts and sympathies are with the parents and family during this very difficult time. <!-- --><\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-eb7bd5f6-0 fYAfXe\">&#8220;Our focus is now to help the police with their investigation and our staff wellbeing.&#8221;<!-- --><\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-eb7bd5f6-0 fYAfXe\">The nightclub will be closed on Sunday evening.<!-- --><\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-eb7bd5f6-0 fYAfXe\">Hospitality Ulster said it was &#8220;deeply saddened by the news&#8221;.<!-- --><\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-eb7bd5f6-0 fYAfXe\">&#8220;Nobody should ever go on a night out and not return home,&#8221; its chief executive Colin Neil said in a statement.<!-- --><\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-eb7bd5f6-0 fYAfXe\">Police have appealed for anyone with information to get in touch.<!-- --><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/articles\/crk0mmzy0mxo\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Police are investigating the death of a woman at Lux nightclub in Belfast City Centre in the early hours of Sunday morning.
