Three people have been arrested after a raid on a suspected “chop shop”.<\/p>\n
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) visited a garage in Cheetham Hill on Friday after receiving reports that stolen cars had been illegally dismantled, or “chopped up” for spare parts, there.<\/p>\n
Men aged 27, 32 and 59 were detained on suspicion of handling stolen goods. <\/p>\n
GMP said suspected stolen car parts seized from the business in Bromley Street were now being examined. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Images of the raid released by GMP show a number of vehicles stashed in a lock-up garage in an archway beneath a railway viaduct.<\/p>\n
Insp Dan Pickavance, from the Manchester neighbourhood policing team, urged anyone who had had vehicles or car parts stolen to get in touch to help “build our intelligence picture”. <\/p>\n
“Stealing someone\u2019s hard-earned property and selling it on is vile – quite simply profiting off someone’s misery,” he said.<\/p>\n
“On our Manchester patch \u2013 as teams do across the entire force \u2013 if we get reports and intelligence of such criminality, you can expect us to act.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
